Leasehold

Afternoon,

I am not sure if I am posting in the correct forum section here.

I currently have purchased a property that is leasehold and they are chancery st james, I have misplaced the t&c's and are awaiting new ones to be sent out to me.

I am curious though.. do I have to ask for permission from my leaseholders to change the internal structure of the house or does it soley effect the outside of my property?

I.e as I would like to make some of my garage into a utility room?

When I come to purchase the freehold of this property, will chancery st james come and inspect my house?

Thanks

if its just internal decorations, i.e. fitting kitchen units in the garage. That should be fine.

You'd have to consult the actual lease to see exactly where the responsibility for things lies. If you were doing structural work, i.e. knocking out walls, then it may be a requirement to get the landlords permission.
