Why not have contents insurance with the accidental damage cover included? Have you compared the costs?
How likely is it that your furniture will be damaged? Can you, as it were, self-insure because it is unlikely?
Separation of frame components - in the first year, would this not be the responsibility of the retailer for providing a product not of the quality required? Why should you insure for that? Or are you going to be treating the sofas so badly that you expect them to fall apart?
If you have sofas, you must have other contents for your home - so get insurance.
My advice would be that if you can't aford the insurance and are not willing to take the risk on yourself, don't buy goods which you want to insure.
If you want to get contents insurance, follow the advice given in this forum.0 -

I agree with little voice.
It should be covered on a normal contents insurance policy automatically.
If damage is small then you will probably find it isn't worth claiming because of excess and loading in subsequent years.
If the whole thing is damaged in a flood or fire then it would be covered under normal household contents cover.
I would not bother getting extra insurance.
If you really think damage is quite likely with 2 small children then perhaps consider something more practical (some people say leather is practical others don't and I think it depends on the type of leather).0
