Probably. Even the best flea-killing treatments won't prevent the pupae from hatching, and they're immune from any treatments until they have done so. You just have to rely on the hatchlings being killed before they bite or reproduce. This can take some time. Months and months.

Thanks. I was more meaning that I wouldn't have waited this long to do something about a fleas in my home.

I suspect the OP probably hasn't been sitting on their hands since they first posted about it. Flea-treatments can take quite a while before the beggars stop making an appearance. If the original infestation was present for a long time before the OP moved in there could have been thousands of pupae biding their time. They can remain dormant for up to a year

I lived In a studio room infested with fleas once. It took weeks and weeks to get rid as the eggs just keep hatching out. But if the source of food I.e. Cat is removed they don't survive for long and get slower and slower .... Still makes my skin itch to think about it though.

I managed to get rid of bed bugs, in spite of the doom and gloom 'you'll never do it on your own' comments on here. It took a few resprays (and I believe the neighbours finally got fumigated after the second lot of tenants moved out very quickly) so they haven't recurred.

So i do believe, with strong sprays you can get rid of infestations as long as you are very aggressive about it and prepared to repeat treatments.

It took a few treatments and I ended up making the decision to get rid of our living room rug, as they seemed to appear whenever little one was on his playmat on the rug.

I am keeping a look out though in the meantime, but we haven't seen any for weeks now! Just wanted to drop everyone a thanks.
