Electric heating?

They are the same issue aren't they? If you reduce the heat loss from the bathroom you will need less energy to heat it. Changing the way it is heated doesn't affect that. Anyway... we can't be sure you have a problem in there other than your oil usage looked a little (but not excessively) high.OK - well let's just say that is of a lower priority than sorting out the situation in the bathroom then!
My opinion is that:
... is short termist thinking. You don't know how long oil will be cheap for, and you are adding further maintenance tasks (although obviously far less than introducing a wet heating system in the first place).I do wish to move everything onto my oil-fired central heating, somehow
If it were me, and I had the money (big IF) I'd be reducing the amount of energy required.

Hi Smiley Dan,
This isn't my forever home. I don't want to spend vast amounts of money to potentially save money years down the line. I want my bathroom nice and toasty and my fuel bill as low as feasible over the next 5 or so years.
Thanks everyone for your advice.Cleared my credit card debt of £7123.58 in a year using YNAB! Debt free date 04/12/2015.

So I discovered that the LCD control panel for the bathroom underfloor heating has a "usage" display. Apparently only used 144kWh for the year. So that's obviously not the culprit!
Have come to the conclusion that the damned convector heater was almost the sole culprit of the high electricity usage. We plan to replace that with a proper radiator anyway and this won't involve the destruction of any tiles so should be a fairly simple job. Savings from next winter hopefully
Think the sodding thing has actually cost us all or most of that ~£200 we underpaid on the electricity bill. Cleared my credit card debt of £7123.58 in a year using YNAB! Debt free date 04/12/2015.
