Most free music downloading sites/programmes are illegal, although I heard about a website launching a while ago which would provide free music download and it would pay for itself through advertising, anyone know what im on about?0

I think some people are being a bit too hasty. We're talking about classical music, which depending on when the work was recorded may now be public domain.
Here's a list of public domain recordings on wiki: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Sound/list"She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

Not only that, but internet radio stations (and various version) such as the Music Genome Project (Pandora it's called) will allow you to play music that is similar to a song you already like! You can skip 3 tracks but apart from that it acts as a radio thing.
Depends if you just want to listen to it or download itIf you want to download follow superscaper's link.
If all else fails I would recommend:
1) Downloading Itunes. MASSIVE classical store on there, 79p a track, £7.99 an album
2) Buy a £100 itunes voucher off ebay as they go for about £15 thus £15 getting you £100's worth of music.... etc...
Good luck.[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]"The internet is a great way to get on the net."

There's also http://www.classicalarchives.com which allows 5 files/day for free or you can purchase $25/year subscription for 100/day."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

Although the above is an American site, any files relying on copyright expiration should apply in the UK as well since our expiration laws are actually shorter than the US."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

Scaper, can you confirm the validity of this site:
http://www.classiccat.net/
Poorly maintained but looks pretty legal and above board to me?[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]"The internet is a great way to get on the net."

:rotfl: :rotfl: That was the first one I came across, only reason I didn't post it was because just like you I wasn't 100% sure on the legality. As far as I can tell they are trying to only give legal links and they deliberately intend to be a legal site. So I guess it's pretty safe looking at some of the links to legitimate sites. Let's face it if we were to ban sites because of a mistake or two on copyright/legal issues of songs we'd have to ban itunes as well.

LOL very true! I love following all these random law suits with the beatles, eminem etc etc.. very funny.
Guess youtube would be completely banned with all the ongoing court cases! No one's innocent till proven guilty anymore[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]"The internet is a great way to get on the net."
