I bought a bread slicer from Lakeland 18 months ago after buying a bread maker.

The slicer has a plastic removable piece that protects the base from knife marks.

I lost this and emailed to ask them if they sold spares. 2 days later a brand new bread slicer turns up at the door. (£20 on the website):j

I've always found Lakeland excellent.

Their basic square storage tubs are a real bargain.

I've always found their customer service to be excellent. I've contacted them a couple of times and they have sent out a replacement item immediately with no quibbles, without even wanting me to return the original which saved me the hassle of postage.

Even better if you go to their Windermere branch (also HQ) they have an excellent restaurant.


And the shop is massive, you can find solutions to problems you didn't know you had

My mum had some Mega Pegs. One of them snapped within a few months of buying them, she was sent two packs - £3.99 each.

Then has a pack of 10 Stack-a-boxes. One of the lids cracked and they sent her another pack of 10. Most of these she gave to me when I got my own place. These are £9.29.
