Good Morning All,
TA i hope you feel better soon. I do hope that everyone else is well, if not then you have my very best wishes.
Welcome Aliama pull up a chair and have that extra coffee. That's what i am doing!
The weather is awful this morning, wet and windy and cold, i think the wood burner will be lit before lunch time.
All laundry will be dried indoors today there is nothing large or thick so it won't take too long.
I have quite a long list of chores to get through but i have a bad case of the CBA today so i suspect it will be the bare minimums getting done.
Hope everyone has a great day

Morning all,
Welcome to Aliama - Agree with the 'more coffee'
TA- Hope you make a speedy recovery.
Feeling a bit pants today. Got a nasty cold and feel like my head will explode. I shouldn't complain really as I very rarely pick up colds etc which has got to be good working in a school!
My dad was due down about ten to help me do DH's self assessment, but he has just phoned me to say he got stuck on the phone (he does yak!) and he still needs to shower and eat first. So I shall expect him in about half hour.
Lots of rain and wind here today still

Afternoon all.
My day is a messed up day. All plans are out of the window yet again.
I have my youngest Grandson with me most of the day. My daughter asked me to have him whilst she picked up her wedding dress. As the morning progressed, he cried and grizzled because it was close to his usual sleep. Then I got another text asking me to have him longer as things weren't exactly going to plan her end..... Then another text, 'can I go and get my currency' for the honeymoon so ive told her to just go and get everything sorted and i'll let her know when he wakes up from his sleep. He was so tired this morning and so grumpy. He is in his new bed at Nannys house. We bought him a crib when he had overnight stays when he was a baby, then we bought him a space saver cot when he had outgrown it but I was determined not to buy another cot as sooner or later he would need a bed and I didn't want to buy both. He's now got his very first bed. Its a toddler bed.
My other daughter, her partner and SJ are still down South.
A big welcome to Aliama. Good to have you join us.
Elona, whatever your doing where ever you are. I'm thinking of you.
No housework will be done today, I'm whacked. Mentally rather than physically. Tea will be thrown together.
Onwards and forwards,
have a great day all. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Afternoon All
Been back to the dentist again, we seem to have a regular weekly date at the moment. Now filled the root canal again, and have a crown on a pin, and anti-b's (3rd set). If this fails, it will be a bridge with the crown on the adjacent tooth. Hopefully no further outlay, as I have paid the NHS max charge, and this is still ongoing.
DH gone to see his DB in hospital, they think they may have found what is wrong, but had to stay in and have intravenous anti-b's for 4-6 weeks!! His wife has to have a eye op in a few weeks, so we will be helping their adult kids with visiting, while she is out of action. My bark (cough) has returned so steering clear until fit.
Blowing a Holley here too, and showery. Skye currently snoring on the settee. Think I may do a little, baking as the cake tins are bare.
Elona, Molly, LW Look after yourselves ((hugs)), spoons, & positive vibes all round

Why is it I have less time now I am retired then when I worked?0 -
We might be fostering a dog soon, I am still not ready for another permanent one but would feel happy fostering, I have been in touch with a really old friend who runs a dog charity and she is desperate for foster carers, so we might be giving it a go. We will need to be home checked to make sure we are suitable, I would love to look after dogs until their forever home becomes available and until we get our forever dog !
I didn't feel able to take on a dog full time, lest my health deteriorate to a point where I couldn't cope with their general welfare, hence doing the dogsitting; not quite the same as your situation, but there are definite parallels.:o
Talking of which, I had the franchisee on the phone earlier with a veritable plethora of bookings for me, going as far forward as Yule!:TIf your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Satisfactory visit to the Drs. OH can drive again as he has regained full use of his arm, hand and leg. Dr is also going to write to SS for an assessment re our needs, so hopefully we might get a leg up the ladder. What a difference in GP's from our old one.
Laundry dried on the whirly, fetched it in before it rained. now folded and put away.0 -
Evening all,
knitting this morning was a small group, some on holiday, others busy and a very wet morning didnt encourage people out. We have an exhibition coming up in a few weeks so will need all hands on deck.
DDIL not at all well since her return from Florida, DS3 finally persuaded her to doctor, who sent her straight into hospital.....at least she is now within 6 miles of home so we can keep a close eye....she is naturally very upset, but hopefully she will be completely recovered soon.
Its really sunny here now, not all that warm so we wont be eating outside this evening, chicken, aubergine and butternut squash, had tea and cake earlier so only beginning to think of dinner now, which is rather late for us.
Speedy recovery to all of you not feeling well.

Evening all,
Been very windy and cold today.I went shopping for 2 sets of new curtains for the new cottage and took them over this afternoon,DH decided they would pack up early take me home, then he would have an early tea and go back and carry on his tiling, which he did.
I'm going to put the rest of tonights batch cooked beef stew into foil dishes to freeze, wash up and do a bit more sorting for the move before I sink in front of the tv otherwise I'll feel too guilty when DH is working so hard.
TA hope you feel better soon x
