Thanks for the post. Sadly the price had gone up to £111 today (so £71 after cashback) but still not too bad. First phone call - the price match was refused due to the rebate. Second call and the operator argued with me over whether eBuyer offered free delivery or not (they do) and eventually he price matched - success! :beer:

That's interesting - I wondered whether the £40 cashback would be taken into account, but wasn't with mine and price happily matched! But also they said that it was irrelevant that purelygadgets charged for postage - so they must all do it differently in Dixons!

Can you argue the better price after delivery and if so how long after?
Ordered mine last Sunday, picked it up from DHL on Friday.
With a code and egg went down to £120, cashback will be down to £80.

Well I've sent an email to ask - so i'll let you know if they get back to me!

Rung them (using say no to 0870) - said won't match as not a like for like due to cashback.
Been instructed by head office to refuse the price promise on this basis.
Tried to argue, but wasn't having it.

Tried again and it's still a no. Sounds like they had a memo about it so those who got in early were lucky.

When I looked at ebuyer there weren't any left, so I guessed they wouldn't pricematch for that reason...

got one with the egg card and its a pretty good camera, I like the intelligent ISO which helps with moving objects (babies etc!) and also with jittery handshakes.
