Hmm... have you considered income support? as you are under 18, work part time and are on a low income :)https://www.gov.uk/income-support/eligibility

There is also ESA... though that application on the phone can take ages *45 minutes* :/ but is worth it if you need it :) link: https://www.gov.uk/employment-support-allowance/overview

I was wondering also if your college/educational establishment offers any form of financial help like bursaries or anything? :) either way hope things improve for you soon! :D (also I believe there's meant to be a discounted travel scheme for students under 19) :)

Her partner's income might be too high for income based ESA / income support.

Grief I wish one of my daughters had your work ethic. She left college with 3 A levels one of which was law. then she decided that she had had enough of education and fancied spending the next 12 months having a bit of rest and play. She refused to find a job, and couldn't support herself financially. It was when she was 24 (7 years later) that she started work, I paid the first month rent and deposit on a 2 bed flat. for her - then we down sized meaning there wasn't a bedroom for her if she wanted to come back home.

She's now a solicitor and doing well for herself thank goodness.

Sophia - from your posts, I think that you might be in the Basildon area - have you heard of the Basildon Foyer (see http://foyer.net/foyers/basildon-foyer/)

I think that these might be the people to help you - good luck!

Yes, my Mum is indeed still claiming Child Benefit for me. Although, she refuses to give any of it to me.

In that case, you do need to make a claim on your own behalf - she is not entitled to it if you are no longer living at home and are no longer dependent upon your parents. Are you attending VIth form college or still at school? Talk to your year tutor who should be able to point you in the right direction for help.

The Youth Forum should also be able to help.

College should have a finance department who can advise on matters like these.
