House buying, separation and tax credits.

My wife of 7 years has suggested I move out of the marital home (amicably, a bolt out the blue nonetheless). I have been main carer to our two children (boy 4, girl 6) since birth and have made it clear that this will continue. With that in mind she has agreed to purchase a second property so we are not reliant on the rental sector (I have a minimum wage job), in lieu of any child maintenance.
I've never claimed any benefits or tax credits before so this is all new to me, in summary what would I be entitled to claim? I'm on a 12 hour contract (weekly) but can pick and choose my hours up to 30 hours a week (the 12 being the minimum, I worked 25 hours last week for example).

I haven't claimed benefits or tax credits (including child benefit) as we haven't been entitled to any as my wife is a higher earner.
I work at least 16 hours (usually 18 (3 shift 7, 7 and 4).0 -
As main carer surely you should remain in the kids home and she move out ?Stuck on the carousel in Disneyland's Fantasyland
