View bank statement early?

I would like to know if there is any way of viewing your bank statement early before the end of the month, I may have been charged overdraft fees over the last few days and I am looking to check how much I am going to be charged. I don't receive my statements until the final week of the month.

    Online banking
    Mobile app
    Mini statement from cash machine
    Telephone banking
Walking into a branch and asking someone

Take your pick, from whichever of the above your bank supports/has.
  • It isn't possible with Santander online banking or telephone banking until the end of the month, the electronic copy cannot be viewed beforehand.
I don't know if ATM mini statements tell you about your recent fees but I will check that out.

You won't be able to see the fees they're going to add until they've actually added them, which is presumably only done monthly at the end of the billing cycle (your statements should clarify)? However, you should be able to work them out from the closing balance on each day, which you can see within your online banking, etc....

Edit: perhaps you can see charges in advance as per post below!

Never been charged anything by Santander, but don't they show up when you view your account, then click the "View Charges" tab at the left-hand edge of the page?

Says on mine "There are no charges due to be applied to your account" - I'm (only) guessing that the "due" implies that pending charges will be displayed.

As an alternative you could reconcile your bank account daily including all transactions (including any internet purchases (easily forgotten as no paper trail) and all CC purchases (that you will have to pay for at some time so make provision immediately).

This will give you a running accuarate balance allowing you to live within your financial envelope.

If you do get into OD territory you could calculate the charges incurred from your T&C's. But the objective must be to not spend more than you have, thus reduce your expenditure to what is affordable accounting for all annual , 1/2 & 1/4 ly bills accruals.
Debt is a symptom, solve the problem.

I don't have charges on any of my bank accounts but I understand that all of them notify you, on your statement, a month before they take the charges.

I.e. if you have incurred charges in April, these will show on your April statement. But they will only be deducted from your account on the May statement.

In other words, check your last statement for the charges you might be due to pay in your next statement.
