Odd tax credits payments

Hi there
Bit confused as to tax credits payments as they are all different recently

7th April - normal payment
14th April - normal payment minus approx £5
21st April - 14th April payment less £2
28th April - 14th April payment plus approx £18
5th May - 28th April payment plus approx £20

Haven't renewed yet. Do have an overpayment from previous years that I am still paying back.

Any ideas?

Really bugging me as a bit OCD about budgeting, and I really don't want to call and be on hold for hours.

I haven't got last tax credits award notice, so can't check on that.

Perhaps I will call them then, just would like to know which is the right payments. But suppose it could all change when I get my renewal.

    Thanks for your reply.

Phoned tax credits, got through very quickly!

Said odd payments are just adjustments and normal, provisonal payments are the same as the one I got yesterday. My renewal pack was sent out yesterday. Advisor didn't appear to want to answer my questions, so still have no idea what adjustments were made.

My renewal pack was apparently was sent out on the 5th and I still haven't received it. is this normal?
  • I think that's the date it was issued and then royal mail deliver in batches.

Probably will take two weeks, mine was sent 19th arrived about 25th I think.

Apparently I have a provisional award that was sent 2nd may still not arrived either.
But when I rang I was told to wait 8 weeks the first time, the second time I was told 10 weeks.

I hate not knowing the payments will be around this time of year.

Thanks Georgiasdragons, didn't know any of that.

I hate it too as I like to budget on how much I have per week and would like to know what my actual payments will be. Have had funny payments for the last few weeks, so it's very confusing.
