Travelling to Egypt - visa requirements

Hi

I am a regular traveller to Egypt but they have now changed the visa requirements, effective 15th May.

However, there appears to be conflicting information for EU passport holders and I can't find a definitive answer. I have emailed the Consulate again, but can anyone say definitively that there is now no longer a change for EU passport holders and that I can collect my visa on arrival at the airport in Cairo?

I will be travelling on 28th May, so time is getting tight if I need to apply beforehand.

The proposed change has been delayed. They are hoping to implement an e visa system. For the time being, you can still buy on arrival as before.
  • Thanks, typical of the consulate, they replied to my email this time having ignored previous ones!

    Hi gettingtherequickly

Yes indeed we can still buy the visa upon arrival. I had a quick question for you if you do not mind: as you are a regular traveller to Egypt, do you know of any "ethnic" "specialist" travel agency I could use to go there? my dates are end od june till end of august.

I have done various websites such as globehunters, opodo, budgetair, kelkoo and british airways direct but all quite pricey I believe for this time of the year. So was hoping somewhere there might be local cheaper agencies in London or elsewhere?

    Thanks a lot in advance.
