Transferring shares (exercised options) from a corporate nominee account

Hi,

I'm wondering if anyone could help with the following. I was given some share options by the company I work for. I then exercised some of those options and they are currently held by my company in a corporate nominee account.

But I have no visibility of the shares, the company say they aren't able to provide anything to show the number of shares in my name.

I'm not massively happy about this so I was thinking of moving them into a share account in my own name. But from the research I've done a lot of the brokerage account places seem to charge based on how much you will trade. But I'm not planning on doing any regular trading, I just want an account that shows I have these shares in my own name.

Has anyone got any advice? Is there a type of account I could use to transfer these shares in? And an account that doesn't need me to also deposit an initial largish amount? I've been looking at the Halifax Share Dealing account but they want £1000 initially to open the account.

Many thanks for any advice!

Marmot

There's a decent comparison of the main players at http://monevator.com/compare-uk-cheapest-online-brokers/

Why not just ask them to issue a share certificate? With my company, this is cheaper than trading via the company broker.

Hargreaves Lansdown don't charge for holding shares outside of ISA/SIPP.
