Replacing external drains and gullies

Hi

I've been qoted £3100 +VAT to replace all external drainsworks to my house. This includes replacemnt of gullies, all pipework to the foundation line )including 2 WC connections) and refurbishing the manhole/inspection chamber. It also uncludes reinsating the concrete.

Does this seem resaonable?

I'm struggling to get compaies to take this job on!

You may be struggling to get a company to take this on for it is potentially an unpleasant and hard job. It is also an unusual request. Why do you need to replace the drainage?

Drainage is a critical item covered by The Building Regulations. It is not a task to be undertaken without competent workers, or specialist knowledge.

You need to establish where you stand with regard to these Regulations and also with Adopted Drainage. Consult your Water Authority, or Building Regulations department for guidance.

With regards your quote it is impossible to say if it represents good value. To use an analogy, you are saying my classic car needs new wings, new doors and a new boot. Does this quote sound good? The answer is who knows based a lack of detailed information.

Hence, is the work hand dig? what is the ground condition? how deep are the drains? what specification has been drawn up? the list goes on...
