External Water Pipe/Drain Insurance?

Last year I took up Homeserve insurance, but I am now coming up for re-newel. (I hear now that they are terrible if you nee to make a claim.)
Is there any home insurance that offers external Water pipe/drain insurance in their insurance. I have had a little hunt around. It seems a few offer accidental damage.
If anyone has some suggestion for a route to look into I'd be grateful. The reason why I'd like some external water pipe/drain insurance is because I live in and older property and therefore the drains are pretty old. thank you.

If any neighbour's rainwater empties into your pipes, then it is a common pipe/sewer (not sure of the correct term) and the responsibility of the water company. Accidental damage to drains/pipes may well be part of your house buildings insurance. If you are after an insurance that covers any possible problem, I think you will struggle.

Some policies cover accidental damage but not wear and tear.
I don't really want to re-new with Homeserve as I am aware of Which magazines research on external pipe insurance - ie that it might be mis-sold.

I'll keep hunting around to see if there is something, but I beginning to realise that I might be wasting my time and perhaps my money.

If there is a supply pipe issue on your property, most water companies offer one free repair, so you might find your HomeServe cover is pointless, as many do.

Check your water company's policy on its website.

    Next, trace & access.

This cover which is an add-on for buildings insurance offers to trace the source of the leak and make good, where otherwise you would only be covered for the effects of the leak;-
