Enhanced & Severe Disability Premiums

Hi,

Is it a case you can only receive one of these and not both for ESA? My award letter states I have been awarded the severe disability premium but not the enhanced one. I presume that the severe one overrides the enhanced one as it's more?

Thank you!

You can receive both but they have different criteria.

I'm in the support group, contribution based with income top up. I get middle rate dla and live alone and no one gets carers allowance for me.

You qualify for the enhanced rate because you are in the Support group even though you are not on high rate DLA.

It is likely to have been paid in your ESA claim automatically.

Look at your award letter and see how the money is broken down.

I'm in the support group and according to my letter, I receive the disability income gauruntee. This is the enhanced disability premium.
