Hi travelling down to London in a few weeks, staying on the Saturday night. Does anyone know if it is possible to park cheaply or free in the Vauxhall area. A parking website suggests street parking is available free on the weekends in the area, does anyone have 1st hand experience?
Thanks in advance.
Thanks in advance.

Try http://en.parkopedia.co.uk/
for parking info - I find it v helpful and comprehensive with prices, timings etc."Does it spark joy?" - Marie Kondo

Staying near Vauxhall Station (& MI6 hq - must be spaces in their carpark on the weekend...
) Dont mind parking up to a mile or so from there as won't be using the car once in London.

I have parked at the big Sainsburys which is about a 5 minute walk from Vauxhall station, but has a 2 hour maximum parking time during the day. It might well be open on a Saturday night and if you go on https://www.instantstreetview.com/ put in the postcode sw8 2lf there is a parade of shops on Wilcox Road opposite which when you zoom in on the parking notice is paid parking Mon-Fri only. Of course the parking may be heavy with people having parked there from earlier in the day or Friday. Depending on where you are coming from, maybe you could park up at a tube station car park and get the tube in as it is £1-2 for all day parking usually at weekends.

That Sainsburys has been knocked down and is in the process of being rebuilt along with a large number of flats.

There's plenty of free parking in the local residential roads eg Fentimen Road, most of the residents bays only operate from monday to friday 8.30am til 6.30pm with the rest of the times being free. Just make sure you check the signs next to the parking bays to see what times they operate
I would avoid the roads behind the railway arches opposite the MI6 building as there are a lot of nightclubs open until silly o'clock there.0
