Average utility costs per month
I am thinking about buying a house for me and my gf
I was wondering what 2 people living together are generally spending on month on elec, water and gas
I will also need to factor in insurance, tv license and broadband which I think will be about £50 a month
We will generally be at work and out of the house from 7-7 Mon - Fri
Thanks

We pay £55 per month for gas & elec, £25 water. Well insulated and living in the tropical south of UK.
Mother in law pays £85 gas & elec poorly insulated.

Average usage costs from £975 by direct debit or £1100 by cash. Or many people pay £1400. The same usage costs more than £400 more for stick in the muds.
The average person pays more than £110 per month. Of course it is easy for you to pay half that amount. But then you wouldn't be "average".0 -
shop around on comparison sites for best tariff deals. If you are out at work most of the week you should not use much more than 70 or 80 a month jointly for gas n electric. We pay 68 a month with first utility and my OH has heat on a lot even at night as he sleeps downstairs when I work nights 2/3 times a week . But we are good with switching stuff off not standbys.0

Water cost cannot be 'averaged' as we don't know if you are on metered or RV billing, and prices vary up to 250% depending on region.
All electric houses will cost more to heat and hot water unless you are on E7.
Don't forget Council Tax in your calculations. No free lunch, and no free laptop
