Reclaiming tax on current (and savings) accounts

My mum put in an R85 at the end of February for her Halifax accounts and a BOS regular saver she opened recently. Took it to our local BOS branch, the BOS account was registered but the Halifax ones were not. This came to light when I checked the interest she received on a matured fixed online saver, she was underpaid by £12, which was 20% of the amount of interest she was supposed to get.
A quick call to Halifax revealed that there had indeed been an attempt to register the accounts at the end of February but that there was an IT glitch. The advisor was most helpful and has said they have a form they can submit to sort it at their end but that account and earlier tax from other accounts has to be reclaimed from HMRC.
So if anyone in the last few months have put an R85 into Halifax, I'd advise you to check that it has succeeded.0 -

Yorkshire Bank still not responded to R85 despite contacting them twice by secure message and their customer service online advising that they have referred my complaint to the appropriate department. I have several accounts with the Halifax, and sent R85's at the start of this tax year. About a week later I had a letter on a couple of the accounts to confirm it was done, but nothing else.
It took two phone calls and a written complaint to get a letter to confirm that the other accounts had been registered.
When it's time for the interest to be paid, I'll be looking at my accounts very closely to make sure all is in order.Early retired - 18th December 2014
