The other thing is that your nose gets acclimatised to scents. So just because you stop noticing it after half an hour doesn't necessarily mean that the scent has gone.
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

Wish I could agree with this being the issue, but when I come home to my home not smelling of air freshener when I know I have a plug in just behind the door, I know something's up!

I think I did tend to think I was losing my sense of the scent or something until I got one of the Rituals reed diffusers and it just made everything different! I'd gotten the diffuser in a gift set and hadn't thought it would have made any difference as I'd previously tried both the Airwick type and the Bodyshop diffuser and (one at a time) had left them in my very small bathroom and yet could barely smell either.
With the Rituals diffuser I left it in the far larger main room- the largest in my home and could smell the scent rooms away- I can't even get that sort of result with a plug in!

I can never smell the plug ins. Also tried the Airwick diffuser, in the bathroom and that didn't smell either.
I'm going to try a Rituals diffuser, people on here seem to like them.
