Cleaning product help

Hope I'm posting in the right section!

I need some recommendations for cleaning products that actually smell nice and after you've cleaned you can still get a nice aroma. I've tired Method and Ecover and although they smell nice when you use them, they certainly don't linger. I don't like the smell of chemical type cleaning products. I love the smell you get when you go into hotels, I want to open the front door and to smell my hardwork
Any suggestions please?

Ihave loads of different cleaning products, and they all smell nice when I am using them, but I don't think the smell lingers with any of them.

Yes I find that too, although when I go into other people's homes they seem to smell really nice without the use of candles. Maybe an industrial cleaner might be better but I don't know any brands

It's not the cleaning products you smell when you walk into a hotel - it is some sort of room perfume, pot pourri or whatever. The better the quality, the more appealing/long lasting the fragrance.

Rituals are excellent - the latest offer from All Boxed Up might worth a look: http://www.allboxedup.co/rituals/

Try a room spray or diffuser.

I'll have a look at the Rituals stuff. Maybe that's what I need. I've tried room sprays but again, can't find any I like and diffusers aren't that good either. But thank you for the suggestions :)

Have you tried the Method shower spray, the one you're supposed to use after every shower? I find that lingers quite a while and it's something you can spray a little of whenever you use the loo if you want - just spray different tiles/bath/sink/shower curtain each time. It's quite a flowery smell though.

I agree with the above; it's not the cleaning products that leave the lingering scent, it's an added perfume. There are many and I think the one's you find in supermarkets are generally poor quality and not very strong at all. I feel like I've wasted so much money on buying the next best thing in whatever supermarket which smells great in the store but unless I'm going to buy the entire range and have about 5 different plug ins/air-sprays-motion detecting scents/candles...I wont notice anything after about half an hour when it's all died down let alone it covering any other bad odour such as a neighbour smoking and it coming through my window or petrol from an outside car.

I'd recommend paying extra (or asking it as a gift) and getting a more expensive brand because of those I have tried (Rituals, Origins, Diptyque, Jo Malone) *aside from the Rituals which I got as a set, I've never paid for any of these myself!* they are much stronger and do linger unlike those I've tried in supermarkets.

I'd also suggest adding one of the oil drop ins to your hoover if it has a bag (can't recall the name but my mum used to do this back in the '80s and it really made a difference- supermarkets actually do sell these! The same oil can be added to your floor wash). And if you can, hang your washing up inside to dry, not only will you save on electricity if you usually use a tumble drier, or save your anxiety levels if you tend to leave things outside and then worry about the rain! The scent from freshly cleaned clothes or bed sheets really makes a difference. Just remember to leave a window open to avoid condensation.

I'm with you op I like to smell the cleaning products, I love the smell of washing powder & fabric conditioner.

Anyway I like cif it has a lovely fresh clean smell.

I recently bought an Ashleigh & Burwood oil burner, I loved the lamp but didn't think much of the coconut oil I choose. I've just bought a second one ocean breeze - I'm sure that will have that zingy smell I love.

Virtually the only cleaners I use are Stardrops and white vinegar. Plus Astonish for heavier cleaning if necessary.

If you want more than the smell of 'clean' the concentrated Zoflora disinfectant, watered down and wiped over kitchen, bathroom and other non-porous surfaces would leave a suggestion of scent.

Please do bear in mind that any visitors who perhaps have lung and/or breathing problems can be very badly affected by the over-use of sprays, candles etc.
