PCN but paid for parking.

I have read the stickies and some of the more recent threads but I would love a bit more specific advice if possible please.

We parked at the railway station last Thursday and paid for our parking at the machine just inside the station which also gave us our train tickets. There were no signs anywhere between our car and the ticket machine saying that the ticket needed to be displayed. No other cars that we passed had tickets displayed except those with season tickets. There were no instructions at the machine to display the ticket.

We have been given a PCN from Met Parking services. We still have the ticket/receipt for parking which is printed on rail ticket card like an actual ticket for the train which is why we thought it was a receipt not a parking ticket if that makes sense.

On coming back to the car and see the PCN on the windscreen we looked around the rest of the car park and there is just one very small sign say pay and display on the other side of the car park to where we had parked and it is not visible at all from where we were. By contrast there were 2 or 3 of the huge massive ring go signs around.

Should I appeal online (this is the instructions from Met on the PCN)? Are we likely to win or should I just pay? I am really cross about this because the signage is really poor and we legitimately did not see any other tickets in cars either before we got on the train or when we came back. Quite a few other cars had PCNs too.

    Don't pay. Not a penny.

You should at least appeal 1st.

If you have read the stickys you should know on what points your appeal should be made? GPEOL and so on.

Sign-age is another good point and you have already mentioned this.
Did you get Photo's if not maybe a good idea too :)

    Wait for the Notice ToKeeper.
Do not admit to being the driver. So this means you have plenty of time (depending on when event happened) to ready your appeal by again reading thoroughly and digesting the "NEWBIE" Sticky threads.

Thank you. I will wait for the notice to keeper to arrive. However, what happens if this doesn't arrive until after the appeal deadline?
