Experian not on electoral roll

Hi,
I'm quite confused by my Experian credit report (which I've now cancelled) as it says I am. It on the electoral roll and of course this effects my credit score. I am 100% registered. Is this a common problem and how do I fix it?
Please help!
I want to make sure both mine and my partners score are at their best as we will be applying for a mortgage soon…
Thank you!

Hi Wallywalne54,
As you are applying for a mortgage then it is particularly important to make sure your Experian credit report is up to date.
At the moment we are in the period of the rolling register, which local authorities update monthly. It can take 6-8 weeks from when you register on the electoral roll for it to be published and then updated on your report. If you have recently registered then this will update automatically, if you have been registered for a while though we will need to look into this to find out why it isn't showing.
In some cases variations in the way that an address is recorded on the electoral roll can stop it being retrieved.
If you email your details (name, DOB and address) to me I can get this checked for you.
Kind regards

When I last moved I signed up immediately to be on the electoral roll - yet on my credit file it claims I signed up 3 months later.
So there is a timelag - have you moved recently?0 -
I spoke to Experian about exactly this a week or so ago. A very helpful man, I think his name was John, explained that they are in the process of updating their records which has to be done manually. He said they expected the process to be completed in a week to 10 days. From the day I phoned, that period is nearly up.0

I registered for the electoral roll about 3 weeks ago, both for where my family home is and where I am currently staying. Have not heard anything from either council and nothing on Experian? My rating is an electoral roll registration away from being excellent and I need that to be the case before I apply for a mortgage!0

I have been trying to get put on the electoral roll for a while now with experian to no avail. I have lived in my current home for nearly two years, have been registered for just as long and it shows on both Equifax and Call Credit files correctly.
Despite this and even though I have sent a noddle report showing that I am registered they are still refusing to do this.
Why is it so damn difficult for their useless computer system to understand that I live in a flat with a flat number and road number? every other company seems to be able to handle this except the one that can do the most damage to me financially?
its incredibly frustrating having to deal with this when everyone elses records are correct except theirs.0 -

Formal complaint, then get the FOS involved.
FOS may agree to write on your behalf.

Would also tell Experian that you will be reporting the issues to the ICO, as EXperian seem incapable of correctly updating your information under the DPA.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB
