last minute deals?

I'm self employed and it's very difficult to predict my workload. I'm also supporting a relative through a few complicated medical and legal issues at the moment and have to attend a number of appointments. We usually get about 3 weeks notice for these appointments.
The result is I've only had one summer holiday (when I got married) in 5 years. I'd really like to go away this year. Somewhere relaxing, interesting, but not a beachy/resort type holiday. DH can take leave on a week's notice, unless there is something major going on (which wouldn't happen over summer months).
Do you still get last minute deals? how do you find them? Websites seem to require a destination and that really doesn't matter to us.

hi there
some sites have late deals sorta tab bars (you know you click on the late deals and the page loads) , sites like thomas cook im sure do it and therefore i assume other sites do as well.
and glad to see someone else in and around edinburgh on the site !!0 -
I found my late booking holiday on first choice if you go though quidco or topcashback they give cash back, I booked mine to go 16 days later, you can just but a departure airport in and leave the destination blank. I wanted a relax break so going AI, flights etc included.
I wouldn't normally do a package and was originally looking at a city break google.co.uk/flights is good you can just put in a dep/arr dates and it will show flight prices for EVERYWHERE!!
Good luck xxThanks to money saving tips and debt repayments/becoming debt free I have been able to work and travel for the last 4 years visiting 12 countries and working within 3 of them. Currently living and working in Canada  :dance:0 -
There are plenty of flights from EDI & GLA, get to know your preferred destinations from these airports by looking at their websites and when the flights are from the airlines' websites. A no frills airline flight and accommodation can be a good deal. Too many wait for late package holiday deals in high season that just don't materialise. Off peak flight days such as Tuesday and Wednesday can have cheaper flights and evening flights are less popular. Www.hotelscombined.co.uk is a good hotel comparison site.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0
