dla and doctors report.

i applied for dla many years ago and got refused, i had disk problems in my back.....
i have now applied again as i suffer from palpatations, anxiety and strss and i am on medication...
i applied for dla and today 2 weeks later got a letter saying it would be delayed as they need a report from my doctors...is this normal ???

could this be a good thing as at least they might be considering my claim, i supose its not a no..
has anybody else had to have a doctors report ??

do they do this for everyone ??

It is quite common for them to ask for a report from your Doctor. They dont ask for a Doctors report for everyone, generally the decision is made on the application form and additional evidence if provided, Doctors report and findings of an EMP. They can make a decision just on the application form or a combination of 2 or all 3 ways of gathering information.
