Bought 4 nights at a travelodge and saw the £15 off next purchase. Thought it a good deal so went through the rigmarole believing I was still on the travelodge web site. No indication on sign up procedure of any charges.
Felt uneasy so went to completesavings website where ,in the TandC's there was a monthly charge. To be fair it was easy to find, as was the cancellation procedure, but you had to be aware of a possible charge to even look. Cancelled by email straight away and had confirmation of this. Will see if this has gone through in a few days, hopefully it will have been cancelled. 7/10 to completesavings for the cancellation procedure, 0/10 to travelodge and completesavings on the sign up so be warned if using travelodge.

I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.

Well, its NOT that difficult to avoid signing up to a recurring payment on a site which clearly states its terms.
Remember in days gone by they said "engage brain before speaking"? Well, replace "speaking" with "clicking" and you're there!0 -
Seeing that there was no indication that it was not just a discount voucher then yes it was a surprise. I just posted the warning for others to be aware that Travelodge discounts may not be all they seem to be.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

I placed an order with Sports Direct and there was a cash-back offer after I'd completed check-in.Well, its NOT that difficult to avoid signing up to a recurring payment on a site which clearly states its terms.

I followed the link to another website (can't remember the name now) and it didn't take me long to Google and find out it was a 'free trial' but lots of people had had issues with cancelling the 'free trial'.
So, despite what was said an another thread:All the pompous, self righteous, (text removed by MSE Forum Team), that proudly proclaim that they never have a problem because they always read everything before pressing any button have probably just been lucky.
I'm not lucky, I'm just ultra careful.
