Which car insurance companies match/beat quotes?

Hey my girlfriend is try to get fully comp insurance on a 2004 VW Polo 1.4.

Best prices with legal, courtesy car and breakdown have been £548 from Swift Cover and £591 from DirectLine. We have phoned a couple of other brokers who were higher than these to see if they would beat or at least match the quotes. We have got the same response on each occasion that they don't do this.

Can anyone suggest any insurers who will match or beat quotes so we know where to start?

Any help much appreciated.

Usually the only co's that will match or beat a cheaper quote is the co you are currently with.
Also unless the breakdown cover is free you can usually get this cheaper by taking it out yourself.
I assume this will be your girlfriends first car insurance policy. If so the only way to try and better her cheapest quote is to call Swiftcover back and say that you have had a few quotes and one co can beat them but their policy is better for her needs so can they beat or match it. Their quote was £548 so when they ask what the other co quotes I'd say £530.

Like I said though, usually the only co that will bother is your current insurer. But then again, these days they aren't too bothered to keep customers.

How many ins co's have you actually called? Every year I call up for 2 cars and a bike. I call as many 0800 no's as my patience allows and I have found this way to be the best way to make savings. We never pay more at renewal than we did the previous year. Works for me anyway.
:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:

    Have you read MARTIN'S ARTICLE
and tried the comparison websites he lists?
I'm looking to renew my car insurance atm and Swift Cover were one of the cheapest but not the cheapest though what was cheaper for me won't be for you as so much depends on age, experience and driving record.

I haven't come across any that price match, it really depends on what group of drivers a company is targeting I think.
