Not sure whether to sign for JSA

I had a job that lasted a week (well it was better then having to come on here saying my employer didn't intend to pay for 6 weeks anyhow and all the problems that go with it) which has resulted in a letter before action as I'm of the opinion I am due a week's wages - can only laugh at the contrived situation.
I've debated whether to make a claim for JSA as I realise I'm ultimately due a sanction for not letting the boss dismiss me whether there was an intention to pay me or not, I would have ran out of money to travel by this coming week (my question is how does this progress when you haven't been paid for the work done and are without the likes of a P45 or anything much else to prove where worked) and secondly I've managed to get a part time job possible of up to 25 hours which I only had in the pipeline as 'boost your income'! but nonetheless may save my bacon but I appreciate it may mean I am not eligible for any help? not best bothering with signing? am I right?
(this might be being asked for someone else's benefit) although Mum has started helping with money towards the priorities - would be thankful for any guidance.

The Unemployed/claimants don't need a P45 in order to claim JSA.
You now claim JSA/UC online and it isn't paid for the first 7 days ('waiting days.')
Disputes and Constructive dismissal etc are exceptions and are permitted, ie resigned under protest, as are the employer failing to pay the NMW etc. Please be polite to OPs and remember this is a site for Claimants and Appellants to seek redress against their bank, ex-boss or retailer. If they wanted morality or the view of the IoD or Bank they'd ask them.0 -
Thanks for your help, I'm just stuck whether to leave it until the new employer come back to me, as they have said they would make it worth my while in travelling to the other side of Essex so making the shifts longer, whilst I'm going have to try hard to convince I won't be wanting a full time job later, which the state would probably want me to do : (
Thanks again for the help, greatly appreciated x0 -
Am I alone in finding your posts a bit of a challenge to decipher at times?Don’t be a can’t, be a can.0
