The problem we now have is that I only have my Halifax reward debit card and enough euros for a couple of days. Will it be better to withdraw money from the atm rather than paying for things on the card?
Thanks

There should be a phone number for Halifax on the card and it might be an idea to call them to explaim what has happened before you start taking money out.
If you've not withdrawn money overseas before there is a possibility that a sudden run of cash being taken from ATM's will flag up as suspicious and lead to the transactions being refused,0 -

I have told them through online banking that we are in Spain. We plan to just take one lot of cash out. Do you still think we should ring them?0 -
Id draw it in 1, but keep it on your person. My nan always used to sleep on her bag abroad and have a bumbag when out and about:T:T  :beer::beer: to the lil one

They charge £1.50 plus 2.75% for each transaction.
So make one cash withdrawal for enough cash to see you through.
Do not make lots of small transactions.0
