For someone who was always good with money it's been a real shock to realise I'm nearly £10,000 in debt and I want my money back for me! I earn a fairly decent wage and if I didn't have these debts I'd actually have a fairly decent disposable income!
    ...
Hope some of you will join me along the way x

I'll be following with interest, I'm in a similar boat!

ps. I liked your last comment about making the most of being single, need to find my mojo back!

lite ruse, getting my mojo back ( and more!) was the best thing that has happened to me in years and years. I love being single ( I have a 'friend' who I met online, but as I can't see us ever being more than a 'dating couple' I still consider myself single!) I just have to watch the pennies, and also remember to say no to events once in a while!

Send me some Mojo - pretty please! :rotfl:

Although I like my own space at times, I don't particularly enjoy being single, but then I don't have a network of friends or family around me where I live now unfortunately so a social life/support is limited - especially with having a 'littley' so I'm stuck in the house 4 or 5 nights out of 7. Wouldn't change that for the world though. :)

I am seeing someone I also met online, but like you Minty, I don't know if it will work out being any more than what it is presently. He also works away weekly and we are both parents, so weekends are limited - sounds pretty dire in black and white doesn't it!:rotfl:

I am also guilty of spending too much on the garden last month Minty. I've been gradually landscaping it a bit and building a play area for my son, so lots of cash has gone that way these past few months. Plants are an investment though eh?! :D

Hope you survive your busy month with limited financial damage, am sure you will, you sound like you're doing really well with everything.

Hope it's sunny for the BBQ!

BBQ went wonderfully, thankyou! A great day with old friends, and lots of people brought their own drink so my fridge is still full of wine!

My girls are older ( 21 and 18) so I don't have to worry too much about looking after them, but my 'friend' has a 14 year old who he has a few nights a week, so we fit around that most of the time, which suits me, as my weeks tend to consist of marking anyway! We haven't met each other's children yet, not sure when we will. He has met a few of my friends though, but nothing organised. Quite like having my 'date' nights though!

Finances are struggling a bit already though, just booked tickets for two concerts in the Autumn!

Well that last post changed quickly! Last night my friend and my children met. It went well actually, considering I was as nervous as a 17 year old introducing him to my mother!

We were having a big chat Sunday night after he'd had a bit of a crap weekend ( I was having the bbq, and he ended up alone all weekend) when he suggested it. I never have, as ages ago I remembered him saying he wasn't ready to meet my family and friends, so I've always waited for him to suggest it. And he did.

He just called to pick me up and came in to say hello. They chatted for a few minutes and then we headed off. The 21 year old sent me a text afterwards saying "He seems nice!" so that looks like it went okay.

On the money saving side I've managed a no spend week so far! ( Well, apart from the concert tickets :( )

Sig looks a bit different. Have balance transferred what I can from smallest to largest credit card. Possibly a slight false economy but it's getting nearer to the 0% running out on that, and I desperately want to have just one credit card as soon as possible.I know I haven't paid anything off, but it just feels a bit better!

Impressive spending on a night out last night! Had already paid £5 deposit, and with a combination of vouchers and the waitress being an ex pupil ( retirement do from work) I spent a grand total of a tenner, including sharing a bottle of wine with a friend! Then I walked home. So that leaves me with a litle bit extra in my purse for a shopping trip today. Got £54 of NEXT vouchers, and £15 of M and S to buy my holiday wardrobe, so let's see what I can get for that without spending too much of my own money!

So I managed to get a fair bit, though I did go £30 over the vouchers and the money that was left in my purse. But for the amount of stuff I got I'm quite happy with that. Primark comes in very handy for holidays! I bought myself a straw hat which I would never wear normally, but my scalp always burns, so for £4 I don't mind!

Daughter managed to get herself a few things too, so all in all a successful day. One more week in work, then I can relax for the summer!

Struggling to get to the end of the month without too much damage. Smallest credit card is now below £300 which seems so touchable, but with a two week holiday ahead of me, and then 3 more weeks of summer holidays it's not going to be happening any time soon! If I just get to the end of this month with my current account still in credit I'll be happy.

My holiday is half board, and I won't drink much at all so it's not an expensive holiday once I'm there, but I'll still have to watch the pennies.

In other news though, after saying my 'friend' and I were quite happy as we were, he's now told his daughter about us and we have laughingly now declared ourselves as "officially going steady" Which is a nice feeling! He hasn't got any money either, having his own debts from buying his ex wife out of their house, so we're actually good for each other financially as we only have cheap dates!
