Hi everyone. Currently have small galley kitchen, with dining room to the right side and to the back of both rooms is an extension kids playroom. Kids are getting older.. thought of some options - knock wall through from galley to playroom so an l shaped kitchen or using current kitchen as utility room / cloakroom ? And having medium sized kitchen. Budget only abt £15, 000 any ideas ? Thanks.

I'd want a floorplan before I formed an opinionEverything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

You can't beat a utility room.0

Costs of moving things like gas main should be factored in, and RSJ/ building control0

How do I post a floorplan ?0

All things being equal, having a separate utility room would be really useful.0

What problems do you have with the current layout?A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.0

hi, too small floor space at mo and not enough storage. only 2 people can fit in our kitchen at one time. thought by knocking through wall creates more space although it would be small narrow space opening up to bigger room in l shape and moving boiler and sink, but if utility room/cloakroom created from galley kitchen and have medium sized kitchen wonder if boiler could be left and how much it would all cost and advantages/disadvantages.0

Why not knock wall down between dining room and kitchen. Maybe easier if not load baring like the wall (which I'm guessing is the old outside wall) between kitchen and playroom most likely is. Make the playroom a dining room if you still want a separate formal dining room.
Keep the utility room. Washing machines don't belong in kitchens, an anachronism based on that's where the plumbing normally was.
Of course, if we could see a plan that would help. Maybe uploading a sketch saved to a image hosting site such as Flickr or photobucket and posting a link to it here might help?0
