2010 Astra diesel is noisy and vibrating

I recently bought an Astra 1.7 diesel 2010 with 46k on the clock.

I've noticed that it is really noisy when stopped or driving below about 30mph. There is a really loud vibrating noise that seems to be coming from behind the dash although it is not actually vibrating when you touch the dash, you can just hear it so maybe it is from the engine. The sound disappears once I'm driving fast on the carriage
I've always had diesels but none have had this much noise.

Does anyone have any ideas if this could be serious? Thanks

Does the noise chanfe at all with the cluct in and out.

I would suspect the dual mass flywheel has failed or is on the way out.

There is no difference to the noise whether the clutch is compressed or not. It is just when I am stopped at traffic lights I can hear a loud real vibrating noise from behind the dash type area. Maybe a bit like the sound of a bus when it is stopped.

I can still hear it at lower but speeds but once driving faster it is gone completely.

My car is still under the three month warranty with the garage I purchased it from so think I am going to take it back in for them to have a look.

Mines is on it's last legs but it's perfectly fine and quiet once the clutch is engaged and you're driving. It's only when it's in neutral with the clutch engaged it's noisy as hell.

I've been in cars where the whole car vibrates regardless of the clutch up or down.

    Mainly Vectra 1.9's.

Does that happen when it's in gear and moving as well?
That's when mines stops, or when i put the engine under load with air con.

Add a little bit of 2 stroke oil. About 200ml per tankful.

Helps diesels run smoother and quieter
