So if you are getting rid of the house then first step after talking to Nat. Debtline and Stepchange is to secure rental accommodation. That will require a deposit and rent and moving costs. So where is this money coming from?

Your next move after that is to stop paying your mortgage and any other debts and save that money to pay for the deposit etc. and the BR fee. Carry on with paying your essential bills like council tax, utilities etc. When you have the money together you then have to find a property and move in.

Also sort out a Barclays Cash account or a Co-op Cashminder account (don't tell them you are going BR) and move all your payments to the new account.

Check with the council whether they have a scheme where you don't pay the CT of the old house if you give it up. You may be responsible for the CT still until it is repo'd. Any arrears incurred before the BR will go int the BR but any after the BR won't. Please check it out.

Also you need to urgently sort out the CC claim. What do you intend to do about it? Are you going to offer a small amount to keep the wolves from the door until you can go BR? How long do you think it will take you to get the monies together to move?
