Yes the "Find an insolvency practitioner" in the gov.UK site

    Best wishes

It's not working for me - am still getting an error.

That said: I'm not even sure if that it is relevant to me at this stage. What information is it returning?

Is it for finding my nearest OR, or for finding a legal representative for getting help with insolvency? Or something completely different?

    Thanks,

    Paul M.

I am getting a list of insolvency practitioners. I have merely inserted a town or city name.

Bizarre. It gives me an error every time in Google Chrome (my default browser), but I just tried it in Mozilla Firefox and it works okay... Thank you for checking and letting me know!

So are these companies solicitors who specialise in helping people with insolvency?

EDIT: Argh! I can't post links to images either... Really struggling with this forum... I'm not a spammer! :(

They are likely to be fee-charging accountants etc who specialise in insolvency.
The debt charities will be free.

MSE is very hot on spam. This is not personal to you. There is no set amount of posts before being able to post links. Just keep trying.

Today is probably a bad day for replies. See what helpful replies by Tuesday.

    Best wishes

P.s pleased that the browser change has helped.

Thank you terryw, I appreciate you taking the time to help.

I will wait until Tuesday when the bank holiday is over.

    All the best,

I thought it was 10 posts before links

if not, then just go into the money saver's arms and find a chatty/sporty/royal baby/political thread (there are millions) and fill your boots

I know you dont feel like doing that but you cant do anything until Tuesday so a break from worrying might be a good idea

as an aside you have now given your name (I guess) and possibly you location so I would maybe edit out the location or give a false one (unless you have)

Do not use a paid for IS practitioner you do not need to waste money on things like that. Keep in contact with StepChange and if you need a second opinion talk to National Debtline and run things by us.

It's 10 posts as far as I remember before you can post links and I think you've done that already.

And from what you've posted you don't sound like you have a complicated case.

I agree with Tigerfeet above, yours is a straightforward case, although I understand it will be very stressful for you.

Stepchange were great with me and believe me that was complicated!!

Do not pay for help, its just not needed.

If you want to give up your home I would suggest not to get caught up in its value, after B.R any shortfall will be covered so not your worry.

B.R is straightforward if you put in the planning before...bank accounts are important, all this information is on this site.

I would strongly advise you open a basic account with Barclays or the Co-op (assuming neither of them are creditors) Whatever course of action you take (formal or 'runner') the CRA's will catch up will catch up with you and your current account may get closed or restricted and you need an emergency back up account.

I've tried most of the links and they are all working fine for me - perhaps as said by others your browser is a bit picky?

Also, as others have said - based on your posts this is not a complicated case. However, we all realise (mostly from personal experience) how stressful and frustrating it all is. don't pay for IP's - you don't need one. Keep reading all the posts on the welcome board and try and learn as much as you can. The fog will begin to clear - I promise :)
