A long shot but did any landlords lose their deposit when this guy was evicted from his premises in the new year.?

Mr Cawley? short answer no they have been struggling for years phoenixed from "cawleys" on the same premises so no surprise to me barely saw any of their boards up in recent years. My only dealings with him were buying a property i take it he didnt protect deposits?
