New Lenovo laptop not charging properly

Hi All
I have a new (since November) Lenovo Z50-70 laptop.
In the last week it has developed a problem with charging.
When you first plug it it, you can see the little battery indicator powering up. However, it only does that about 4-5 times until I just see the charger indicator (showing it is plugged in) and the battery indicator just showing the current juice level, but not powering up.
I've tried plugging it in to different power points but that doesn't make a difference. The cable isn't damaged.
Can anyone help?
Thanks
M

Is it because the battery is fully charged?
Try running it on battery only for about an hour, then plugging in the charger. Maybe then it will indicate the battery being charged.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the In My Home MoneySaving, Energy and Techie Stuff boards. Seems to be a common problem with this model
https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=lenovo+z50+charging&ie=UTF-8 and look at the lenovo forums.
Doesn't seem to be any definitive fix but different things have worked for different people. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
You could have conservation mode switched on,this means the battery will only charge to 55-60%,this is to prolong the life of the battery.
Open Energy manager, click settings ,if the conservation mode tab is green then this is the reason.0 -
It seems Lenovos are just not built to last. I have had mine 15 months (just outside any warrenty) I shut it down last night and cannot turn it back on today. Had it checked where I bought it and it hasn't been over charged and hasn't got a faulty charger.
I refuse to pay for it to be fixed at £50 plus parts when it clearly isn't fit for purpose. Waiting to hear from customer services about a refund. Has anyone else had this issue?0
