Looking for Roundup weed killer, to kill weeds,

the pump spray type, 5litres,

have seen these 2 below ones, which both contain the same volume (5L),

but what is the difference between both solutions ?
(besides the packaging, and shop and price), is the solution inside identical?

is the solution inside identical?

and how does the Non Pump one spray then?

and is it an instant flow of spray ?

Cheers

I would say that both products contain an identical solution. The non-pump version works the same as squirty bottles of household cleaner where each time you pull the trigger it squirts a small amount of solution. With the pump version you use the pump to pressurise the container and can then spray continuously by holding the trigger down - better for covering a large area without getting tired hands from repeatedly squeezing the trigger.

Always compare Roundup prices to generic and own brand weedkillers, Roundup advertise heavily, so need to cover these costs in the product price.

All you actually need to check is the level of glyphosate. You will quickly realise they all contain the same which is about the maximum concentration available for household use.

Its horrendously expensive to purchase the premixed weedkillers, you're far batter off buying concentrate and a sprayer.

    Sprayer Amazon £6.99

    Roundup concentrate £10

For an extra £2 you get a decent sprayer, and enough concentrate to make 14l of spray.

I normally don't pay the premium for Roundup and use Rosate 36 instead, it's triple the concentration of the Roundup concentrate, the same concentration as the Roundup tree stump & root killer, so goes even further.

    Ebay Rosate 36 1l £14.20

So a 1l bottle which costs £14.20 delivered will make you over 140l of spray, instead of spending £3 per litre you'll be spending 10p

As Davey says it's only about the concentration of glyphosate - you will probably find Wilkinsons sell an identical generic product for half the price of the branded one. You pay a lot for that friendly green container....

another vote for buying it in concentrated form and mixing with water.

Seperately buy a cheap sprayer that will last you for years (keep a seperate one for watering or spraying fertiliser on the lawn etc!).
