                    Hi All,
I wonder if you can help me? I've read the newbie guide and have seen the template letters to send to appeal but I'm not sure what to do in this situation.
I've just received a letter through from Rossendales Collect somewhat out of the blue saying they will be looking to recover £100 for a PCN issued by Vehicle Control Services. Completely dumbfounded having not received anything I emailed VCS to, as owner, demand proof of any such infringement or evidence they had to support their claim. A pack duly arrived via post and to my surprise it relates to a PCN issued in July 2011 which I had long since forgotten about.
To re-cap the incident...it was at the Centertainment retail park in Sheffield, it was an Orange Wednesdays cinema offer day and I was watching one of the films showing at the cinema on the park. The car park was its usual over-full self as it always was on these days with and after a long time of searching I gave in and parked the car next to a pavement but not within one of the designated bays...quite simply as non existed in the entire car park and cars were being parked wherever able.
How that affects any case I may have I am unaware of but that's the details for anyone that does know.
Obviously any appeal time for this from the original PCN has vanished and any related evidence I had to back up my claim such as receipts / movie stubs have long since been thrown out but I do note the wording on the original paperwork stating "Liability for the PCN lies with the driver of the vehicle" so wondering if that's my get out clause? or would you still suggest following the steps as if it was a brand new issued ticket?
Any advice or guidance on this would be much appreciated.
Thanks

Ignore it - This happened prior to 2012, so they don't know the driver. Rossendales are just prospecting to see if they can frighten you into paying up. Least said, soonest mended.0
