are these all fake?

just out of curiousity and not to import them - everytime i run auctions for large price items i get these annoying spam messages (surely ebay should work out a way to automatically stop them), from chinese members with very low ratings

example:
[FONT=Arial, Verdana]Dear sir/Madame,we're a export company who have good cooperation with many manufacturers of world famous electronic products in the world market,we will offer you competitive price, excellent quality, prompt delivery and great after-sale service.if you need anything from us,please browse our website:www.onlinemallcn.com

the website looks poorly put together, but then again their levels of professionalism may be different

i also wondered about the people with low/zero feedback who sell 5 playstations in a bundle for cheap - it would make more sense for them to just sell them themselves
for example - this guy (whos feedback of 144 is made up of selling lists for about a penny). i have followed many of these auctions to see what has happened a month down the line but havent seen feedback, good or bad for such transactions.
it seems fraudulant to me, most of the ones i've come across have similar boostings of feedback by random penny auctions, followed by one big con. ebay and paypal should do more to protect people against this common action - its been happening for ages and it still goes on (unless im completely wrong and they're all legit)

  • in a nutshell, don't ever respond to the Chinese links, always report the messages to ebay by clicking the report link within the eBay message. not sure about the chap selling wholesale PS3's, gut feeling is that something is most definitely fishy

i'v sold two phones and some headphones this week and have had these stupid emails sent to me through the ask a seller route. i have not responded to them, just reported them to ebay. the reply i got from ebay was that they had investigated and found that that the senders ebay account had been hi-jacked and that under no circumstances should i click on any links within the mail sent from the hi-jackers otherwise my own account could be at risk.
so the best thing to do is just report and delete.
