I am not saying they are not difficult - they are
get him to send all the documents to his bdm and ask him to demand they sort it if you are sure that what they have been sent is on this list. This is what they are there for
but if you don't have the correct address proof then they will not budge and you are flogging a dead horse and wasting time - I know this from experience of dealing with them a lot (95% new build shared ownership sob)I am a Mortgage Adviser

My broker has demanded to sort it. Also has made a formal complaint, and been to head office. The frustrating part is they have had proof of address multiple times!
In regards the the list. All have been provided bar:
• Benefit book or original letter from the Benefits Agency confirming rights to benefit or state pension
A mortgage statement from a recognised lender (issued within the last 12 months)
Local Council rent card or tenancy agreement (documentation from a private landlord is not
acceptable)
As i currently live with my parents and this will be me leaving home for the first time therefor bills and things like that are not in my name.0 -
but if the documents were acceptable to the lender they would accept them. They don't decline acceptable documents for giggles as it makes their stats look bad and wastes their time
the broker needs to just ask them what they have accepted and what documents are still required. If they have not accepted certain documents then he needs to find out what is wrong with themI am a Mortgage Adviser

One post says you live with parents. Your other post says you've been living with your boyfriend for 5 years.
Could the problem be with your addresses.0 -
These rules can be quite silly
I just got asked for proof off address... in a letter, sent to that address. Surely the proof is the fact I replied?"You did not pull yourself up by your bootstraps. You were lucky enough to come of age at a time when housing was cheap, welfare was generous, and inflation was high enough to wipe out any debts you acquired. I’m pleased for you, but please stop being so unbearably smug about it."0 -
Thanks for all the advice. I will ring up first thing tomorrow and find out exactly what's going on. I does look like I will have to change providers though.0

leeds are a sod for asking for proof of addresses for the last three years e.g. proof of your address in 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015 at whatever address you have declared. You have to have an acceptable document with the correct year and correct address for them to accept itI am a Mortgage Adviser
