Not totally sure what you are referring to, sorry.

If you are entitled to an exemption card through tax credits due to low earnings you will be sent one. If you've not had one its probably because you earn too much.

    That is correct.

When I was receiving Working Tax Credits and Child Tax Credits, the card came in the post and was valid for 12 months.

Alternatively you can apply for an HC2 certificate which is based on your current earnings, it's open to anyone to apply irregardless of tax credit status
  • Thanks, to hear 14-15 we earns 14 thousand due to temp jobs and a few stints on jsa.
15-16 txt year we are due 18 thousand.
Our exemption cards are only valid for 6 months at a time now and they just finished.
We will have to wait for our renewal then after we send that back it takes up to 8 weeks to receive the exemption card.

  • I got one last April for 7 months then didn't get another it's cause they predicted I was going to earn over 15281 but my actual income was 14000 and I had my new one last week few days before my renewal but my renewal has my up to date income on!

It's valid for 7 months cause October if I'm still entitled I will get another as they check real time for earnings
