2 Barclaycards into 1??

i have what might be a stupid question or a good one?!
I curently have 2 barclaycards, one with £10000 limit & one with £5000, when i obtained the 2nd card i was told i could transfer some of my limit from the £10000 to the £5000 card.
now my question is- if i transferred the £5000 over to my 1st card, then in a few months close down the 2nd account, would the 1st card still obtain its £15000 new limit?
i hope im explaining my self correctly?!
as always, any help is greatly appreciated.

If they will let you transfer the limit, then do that and then close the other card.

they don't always allow you to move limits. and sometimes, when they do, they reduce the total a little bit. but yes, it can be done. i have merged several cards over the years to build up a substantial limit. MBNA have allowed me to do similar.

Interesting, might give this a go then! why have 2 cards accounts when you can just have one on your credit report?!
