gas hob ignition sticking

Hi all,
On one of the rings of my gas hob (Zanussi) the ignition sticks and keeps firing continuously until I switch off at the wall. Is this just a build up of grease or something that can be fixed with a good clean or is it a fault?
Its still under guarantee for another month.
Thanks!

Have you had a pan majorly boil over recently?
I had the same problem after washing the knobs and not making sure they were completely dry before putting them back on (doh!) and when the moisture got into the ignition it kept firing repeatedly.
As it was just water, I switched the hob off at the mains and left it to dry out overnight. No problems after that.
So if its just water, let it dry out. If its grease, you'll have to clean it.0 -
If it's only one of the rings, can we assume that the ignition is started by the individual control knobs, i.e. when you push it in and turn, the spark electrode starts firing OR is there a separate knob for ignition that does all the rings? Whichever, it sound like the ignition switch is sticking in possibly due to a build up of sticky substances.0

The ignition is started by the individual control knobs but the spark thingy fires on all the rings not just the one you're igniting if that makes sense?!
whichever, I'll give it a good clean and then if it persists I guess I'll get someone out while its still under warranty0
