Aerial / Freesat with Sky

Options
We're moving into a new house soon and of course will want to watch TV. So we either have to erect an aerial, or get satellite. The options are limited to only freeview or freesat. We already have freeview boxes, so the decision is going to be a simple one based on price. So, do we:-

a) Get someone to come and install an aerial in our loft...no idea on the price of this at the moment
b) Install an aerial ourselves in the loft....cost is just the aerial
c) Buy freesat through dixons for about £75.
d) Buy a couple of indoor aerials (eg http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/5346831.htm) and give that a go....but would we get receiption?

Thoughts, comments required.

Thanks.

    You forgot:-

    e) Get a decent roof aerial put up.

Unless you are really close to the transmitters don't mess around with loft or set top aerials for digital.

I am about to move house, have ditched Sky, am going for Freeview - £100 for a new roof aerial. - and cable

A couple of months ago, I helped my father-in-law renovate a farm house, deep in the North York Moors. As the terrestial reception was rubbish, he eventually spent a fortune on Sky+ with all the bells and whistles. When I got back home, I discovered that Lidl were selling these Silvercrest 803 portable satellite dishes and boxes for around £60 - I still haven't told him! :p They are meant for caravans, campers etc but can obviously be used at home. The amount of channels that you can pick up are obviously prevailant on where you are, but there are loads to get. But apparently not C4 & C5 until next year. If you like this option, try http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/ for more info.
If I had 8 hours to chop down a tree, I'd spend 6 hours sharpening my axe

You may find that the Silvercrest isn't quite what it appears to be.
I don't think it has a Sky Videoguard decoder built into it, so you will only get a limited number of Free-to-air channels, in English anyway. Also the dish is not very big so reception in the North will be marginal and very weather dependent.
I hate to say it, but Murdoch's stuff does work - usually !
