I found the new style imposed yesterday.
I am not averse to change, but this change is poor, not intuitive for me, hard to read, lacks column distinction
The return to old-style instructions are not working. 'to return to old-style, click here;, has only brought me to this, which is nowhere near the old-style which I want to find again.
I also dislike having Times New Roman foisted upon me and it won't stay changed to Verdana or Ariel.
Any help please? - won't be able to try anything until this evening,

Well ,that's odd.
As I type, it's TNR. When I post, it's ariel, I think.
I do not like this change.

Click on UserCP in the green banner above. Then choose Edit Options. At the bottom there's a Forum Skin section - choose New masthead - stretchy, click on Save Changes and you should get the old theme back.0

Oh Bod, you are patient and kind with this old capricorn.
Have never poked such entrails before.
'Old look, new masthead' is the Grecian 2000 & needed.
Very many thanks, yet again:-)

Yet another vote in favour of the new style board eh?
The designers must be delighted with the response!!!!! :mad:0 -
Stick me in as a disliker also - the old theme is much friendlier0
-
Old theme is more compact, simple. New theme looks baggy and just poor..0

Takes one to know one.
Quite so, donc.......
Hadn't expected further comment, but I'm glad this better, older version is still in stock.
New look has a cheap tat, no human involved look and feel.
Too white, too spacey. I dislike it intensely and it is not good for eyes.
One avatar I know looks like a christmas pudding, because family bonfire night pic, dark figures plus flames rising, is now cropped to a circle.

Thanks for these posts about the new format. I had trouble logging in (which you need, to change your options!) and eventually 'got in' by clicking on 'log in and reply' on the first post. May be some help to anyone with similar difficulties.
One thing that is missing is the 'view first unread' option on the top of the forum which I found handy on long threads that I'm working through. I know that I could bookmark it but that was much easier.
I agree that there is too much space in it, probably another adaption for users of phones etc.? I use a keyboard and mouse and the extra scrolling just makes viewing a slower and more tedious operation.
So far, I thought I'd fixed this a couple of days ago to find that it had gone back to the new format today. Hopefully the solution is to remain logged in, fingers crossed! The beautiful thing about learning is nobody can take it away from you.
Thanks to everyone who contributes to this wonderful forum. I'm very grateful for the guidance and friendliness that I always receive from you.

I was surprised to find my old Thread lives on, after bod's help.
Fortunately, mine remains old format - no recidivism....yet, but I am now aware, thanks to eenymeeny:-)
So yes JB, have voted, hopefully to better effect than last week. although we did get our Daniel over the line in Cambridge - just one red heartbeat left pulsing in the Fens.CAP[UK]for FREE EXPERT DEBT &BUDGET HELP:
