First time renting credit enquiry

So I have recently applied to rent a house with my partner from a housing association. They have stated they use a reference agency called Rentshield direct to attain credit checks and referencing.

I have looked into my credit history via checkmyfile and its stated my data seen by LENDERS as 493 (not good I know) and data seen by OTHERS as 812-868 (good) my question is what number would Rentshield see? And how likely am I to passing the checks? My other half has very good credit. I know everywhere I have looked it states landlords view the public credit report (ie data seen by others) is this correct in this instance aswell?

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

We are desperate for this to go through as it will finally mean we can all live together as a family

Credit file scores are meaningless and made up.

rental checks only look at public records, such as CCJs and worse.

They use that and other info like income, job title to figure out a score that gets used to decide whether or not t rent to you.

They cant see your account history at all.

As mentioned by @happy_bunny, scores are meaningless. Suggest you read up on this MSE article to understand the myths about credit "scores".

It depends who they use & how much they pay: Such checks can be as cheap as £7 (what they charge you is another matter..) so not much info found - e.g.

See what comes back: There is no hard and fast rule about what will be checked and what the acceptance criteria are...
