Happy almost Bank Holiday weekend everyone!
Forgot my bloomin' baked spud, I was so looking forward to that
Luckily I have cheese here and a pack of 7 x mini cheddars is on offer so it only cost me £1 and I have lots left over for next weeks lunches.
Worryingly my Mr T credit card was declined, it's set to pay off in full each month and I don't think I'm in so much denial that I've reached the limit this month so will have to check out what's going on when I get home.
This weekend is going to be a spendy one but hopefully not by me. Both DSSs are coming over tonight and have suggested a takeaway. In good news I won't be the one paying for it!
Saturday we're going out to dinner with DH's friends from up north courtesy of our Mr T vouchers but we will have to pay for drinks (and they are heavy drinkers!) but again, no way will I be putting my hand in my pocket for that.
Sunday night we're at a gig in Shepherds Bush for which the tickets were paid for ages ago. We'll go up in the cab and find a little-used rank to park on somewhere which will also avoid the late night Burger King cravings at the train station!Make £25 a day in April £0/£750 (March £584, February £602, January £883.66)
December £361.54, November £322.28, October £288.52, September £374.30, August £223.95, July £71.45, June £251.22, May£119.33, April £236.24, March £106.74, Feb £40.99, Jan £98.54) Total for 2017 - £2,495.100 -
Afternoon all! Still enroute to holiday. Have tried to be as decluttering/frugal as possible:
- Made up lunch and juices for the journey so no spends yet for the day but we'll go to the clubhouse tonight
- Packed all breakfast, lunche and dinner stuff as the food on site isn't great and the onsite shop is very expensive
Lasagne, garlic bread and salad ready for dinner, yum!
- Managed a services loo stop without buying a single thing!
I have £100 aside for this weekend to cover treats for the kids and the clubhouse. Not spend free at all, but a controlled way of having a holidayApril 2021 Grocery Challenge 34.29 / 2500 -
Afternoon Friday Frugal People,
Seem to have been busy today, & need to go & tart myself up for going out in a bit........a few money-saving efforts anyway:
*Checked veggie garden had survived cold night. Got to look after future food supplies!
*Baked biscuits for guests who are coming to stay this weekend.
*Made crumble topping & base ready to put together tomorrow, also for feeding hungry people this weekend - Bought a few bramley apples & cooked with a bag of last autumn's blackberries from freezer - remember all those berries that were poking through my neighbour's hedge? :-)
*Took delivery of online Sainsbury's order & put it all away. We planned all the meals really well, but can't deny our grocery budget will take a hit. Always lovely to see people though.....& you know how much I
l-u-r-v-e leftovers! We made a definitive food plan for guests staying, even down to breakfasts, picnics, etc.
*Did a few surveys.
*Going out tonight to new heritage attraction in our town. I won 2 VIP tickets for a special tour before they open to the public this weekend. It's at a funny time & I think the lure of a takeaway will call on the way home, but have made sandwiches to eat before we go so that we wont be tempted to buy silly amounts of food if we are not quite so ravenous.
*Re-filled vintage glass decanters with cheapo bubble bath. They look so nice....you'd never think it was Basics in there!
*Started cleaning house ready for guests, using minimal products, as usual.
*Was tough with cat who thought his biscuits might need changing. They soooooo didn't!
OK, must get a move on.
Love to all,

Well we didn't go for our family day out today as ds vomited in the early hours of the morning. I looked after ds and OH dealt with the vomit :A he is definitely a keeper. As a result late start all round and 2 disappointed children. Ds seems fine since and after breakfast he challenged OH to a game of chess which he won.
We are going to a wedding blessing in a few weeks and I have been trying to find something for me to wear, I loathe clothe/shoe shopping and I am running out of time to get a delivery in time, as we are not going out today OH has suggested I use the time to go out and find something. I have finally bought a dress, over the weekend I will need to go through my shoe/jackets/accessories and hopefully find things to wear with it otherwise I will need to venture out again next week. This is made especially difficult as most of the event is planned to be held outside, great if we have the weather like we did a few weeks ago, not so good if we get the hail et c we had earlier in the week. Thankfully the rest of the family already have suitable clothes.
Today I will/have:

Busy bees today.
Twiggy -we all go a bit mad when we first move out I reckon. I will sound like such a hick from the sticks but when I first moved to London I'd never had fried chicken before. I went mad for KFC for about a month. Then realised it's actually very bad news! So that was my version of stocking up (or porking up one or t'other)
BB -awww poorly boy sorry to hear that. Hope he's better now?
Foxgloves - your never in these days! (She said enviously/loving her early night Netflix widow status)
FVD -have a great night out. Hope the big drinkers don't lead you astray." Your vibe attracts your tribe":D
