Before we emigrated we had a Vango AirAway for the motor home. Was up in 10 minutes with one person and less if 2 were doing it. Fabulous things and we could just drive away for the day and leave it on our pitch and then come back and connect up again.

    Hi,
Over the years we have had everything; small and large tents, trailer tents, old and new caravans and we are now on our 4th motorhome. We had a very bad accident towing a caravan and wrote it and our car off so I won't be in a car that's towing anymore. Having said that we love motorhoming. We spend most weekends away on rallies; choosing ones that are close to towns or villages. We spend Jan to March in Spain, travelling through France and staying in free aires. We spend the summer in France/Germany and planning a trip to Sweden next year (also a rally). We have electric bikes that allow us to get about once we're pitched and we can take our little dog with us.
Love it, love it, love it - hope you do too!!!!!

Hope you don't have an accident in your motorhome then or that'll be the end of your motorhoming.

Old neighbours of ours had what we thought was the perfect solution.....they had a small touring caravan which they kept on a site in the south of France and used a motorhome (with a towbar) to travel wherever they wished using the caravan as a base. They towed the caravan to a different site every few years to ring the changes.
We ourselves kept a touring caravan for years in Spain. It was much cheaper to store it there than in UK. We either drove down, camping on the way - or flew and there were always folk happy to help pull it out of storage and onto a pitch.

We are also thinking of buying a motorhome. However we intend to hire one in Spain for 10 days or so just to see how we get on with it.
Hiring in Spain because its a lot cheaper than hiring in the UK.....
