Main combi eco 25 boiler problem

A bit of help required please..

I have the above boiler which is not firing when I turn the hot tap on/central heating. it tries to fire and I can see the flame but it goes out almost immediately and the boiler keeps making clunk noises when it tries to work.the flame goes and comes every few seconds.

It also tries to fire even when the hot tap/central heating is not being called for. The boiler is not bringing up any error codes for me to use to narrow down the fault.

Your help would be appreciated.

What pressure is it showing? If necessary repressurise to 1 bar via the filling loop. It could be shutting down due to over/underpressure.

I have checked the pressure and it is between 1-2bar and comfortably in the green section.

    Thanks for your help.

I had an engineer out yesterday who diagnosed a blocked condensate sump.this was removed and cleaned out as it was full. He also said my pipe going to the soakaway could be blocked so is there any way of checking the soakaway as it is in the ground and i have garden tiles over it?i have only had my boiler two years so what are the chances of this getting blocked?

I have also been told that my gas pressure is too low at 16bar and should be atleast 18bar so is 'at risk'. The engineer advised me to leave the boiler off until this is rectified. Is this such a big risk?he left me a letter saying my boiler is at risk etc.

Pour water onto the soakaway and you'll soon see if its soaking away or not...

it's not AR (At Risk) it's NCS (Not To Currant Standards) providing it's operating correctly, which hopefully it is, no one can or should tell you to turn it back on without seeing the boiler for themselves

Thanks very much for your help.

Ive got the original installer to come back and get the 15mm pipe changed to 22mm from the meter to the boiler.

The letter I received shows the engineer ticked the AT RISK box.the not to current standard box was left empty.

My engineer had checked the boiler and said although its not correct to standards, it is safe to switch on for a few days until he comes out and changes the gas pipework.

The boiler is currently working fine so it looks like the main fault causing the boiler to switch off was a blocked condensate sump.
